Christmas has arrived!

Our superstars this week are:


Alfie and Jonah

for responsibility and reflectiveness.  Well done both of you.

Christmas has definitely hit Red Class this week, on Monday we were so shocked, Santa had been over the weekend and changed our role-play area into his workshop!  We decorated the tree together, wrapped gifts, wrote cards and letters, and made a postbox.  On Wednesday we had 2 elves visit, we have named them Chocolate and Chip, we're hoping that they don't cause too much mischief!


















All week we have had fun making Christmas items, we have sewn our own stockings, made hessian wreaths, snowmen, reindeer food and lots of other things.  Our classroom is looking like Santa's grotto!  We can't wait for more Christmas fun next week.












On Wednesday night, some of us stayed for our very first Christmas movie night.  We had popcorn, crisps, biscuits and juice. It was really dark when we left school!

Outdoor learning and school council

We have had another very busy week in Red Class.  We have been learning our harvest songs with Keystage 1, chasing bubbles, voting for our school council representatives, year 2 house captains and year 1 vice captains.  We have had our first P.E lesson (which we LOVED), we have been learning new sounds and tricky words, and on Friday we had our first outdoor learning session (another lesson that we LOVED!)  It has been a really busy, exciting week, also tiring for our little 4 and 5 year old bodies. Many children, from our class, bravely stood up and told the whole school why they would like to be our school council representatives.  Everybody was proud of how brave they were and of the ideas that they had.  After a whole school vote we would like to congratulate our class school council members Charlotte and Kodie Well done to you both, they will be taking part in their first meeting next week. Foam, writing, the number 5 and The Gruffalo

Our superstars this week are: Freddie  and George for responsibility and resilience.  Well done both of you. In one of our tuff trays we have a wintry scene, we have enjoyed using the foam and discovering the animals that have been hiding. We have all been spending time writing on our whiteboards, we have been choosing to do this a lot so Mrs. Holmes and Miss. Grimmer has given us some notebooks.  We have really enjoyed using these and spend lots of time copying our sounds and tricky words. In maths we have been learning about the number 5, we designed birthday cakes for Kipper as it was his fifth birthday. This week we had our first ever school trip.  We sat beautifully on the coach and behaved impeccably all morning.  We thought the Gruffalo was fantastic, we all enjoyed joining in with the singing, repeated refrains and dancing.  The Gruffalo even wanted to come home with us but we had to say no, he was too big and wouldn't fit into our uniform!

Our first P.E lesson

Today we had our first P.E lesson.  Everyone was so excited, Millie even warmed up for it in the morning, our lesson wasn't until the afternoon. We had great fun playing traffic lights and beans to warm up.  We then showed our fantastic balancing skills by putting a tennis ball on to the centre of our racquet and trying to walk with it.  We worked independently and in pairs.
