Blasting off to space!

 Our superstars this week are:

Jonah and Teddie

for responsibility and reflectiveness.  Well done both of you.

We started this half term off with a BLAST as we began our space topic.  We began by reading Astro-Girl and finding out about Mae Jemison.  We thought about the pros and cons about visiting space and why we would or wouldn't want to.

Our classroom changed into a space station where we made our own space rockets and then used these to blast into space.  Some of us went to Mars and met aliens, one went to Jupiter and some went to the moon where we had a picnic.  We all agreed that it was nice to be back home on Earth.

Lots of us wanted to pick flowers this week too, so Miss. Grimmer brought some in.  We made potions with them, smelt them, painted them and just looked closely at them.  Some of us asked for our potions to be frozen, we then enjoyed defrosting these in different ways.

We carried out lots of other learning this week too.  We have really enjoyed writing in different areas of the room, playing reading games and maths games.
